Braking Through - A Danny Buchan Documentary
We started our production in 2015, getting to know British Superbike racer, Danny Buchan, his family and his new Ducati team. Focussing on what it takes to become a champion, Braking Through follows Danny from the pits to the podium in his quest to become British Superbike Champion.
Danny Buchan is a 22 year old lad from Essex who works 9-5 fitting office furniture for his Dad's business, but when the weekend comes, the real work begins. Racing Moto X since he could walk, a hobby that began in a field in Basildon, Danny soon moved to road racing and quickly became competitive in every championship he entered, picking up plenty of silverware along the way.
Danny's rookie season saw him stand on the bottom two steps of the podium, but as any racer will tell you, "2nd place is first loser".
His eyes are now firmly set on the biggest prize of all. British Superbike Champion.
British Superbike racing is the most competitive championship in the racing calendar. With only a tenth of a second splitting the top ten, in over half of the races last season, it really is a championship that separates the men from the boys. With an average onsite attendance across the country of 56,000, this is a sport that has the public gripped.
Danny's given us exclusive access to all areas of his life; not only during race weekends, surrounded by the glamour of fast bikes and grid girls, but also at work in the gym and at home with his family, providing an insight into the man behind the visor.
All we need now is the perfect ending. Here's where we let Danny do the talking!
